What Do We Believe?

We believe

1. In one God, who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19, Luke 3:22, and 1 John 5:7).

2. That the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God to man and is the infallible and authoritative rule of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:15-17, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, and 2 Peter 1:21).

3. In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His sacrificial death, His glorious resurrection, His exaltation, and His soon return (Matthew 1:23, Hebrews 7:26, 1 Corinthians 5:21, Matthew 28:6, 1 Corinthians 15:4, and Philippians 2:9-11).

4.In salvation by grace through faith in the shed blood of Jesus. This salvation is received through repentance and submission to Jesus as Lord and Savior (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:8-11, and Titus 3:4-7).

5. That water baptism by immersion is commanded in Scripture as an outward expression of an inward work. It is a declaration to the world that the believer has died and is risen with Christ to walk in newness of life. All who repent and believe on Christ as Lord and Savior should be baptized (Matthew 28:19, Acts 10:47, and Romans 6:4).

6. That the Lord’s Supper (or Holy Communion) is a symbol of our union with Christ and of our partaking in His divine nature, is a memorial of His suffering and death, and is a prophecy of His second coming (2 Peter 1:4 and 1 Corinthians 11:26).

7. That the baptism of the Holy Spirit is subsequent to and distinct from the new birth. It endues the believer with power (Acts 1:4,8; 1 Corinthians 12; Acts 8:12-17; Hebrews 12:28; and Acts 2:42-43).

8. That physical healing was provided for in the atonement of Christ and that divine healing is available through the prayer of faith (Mark 16:18, Matthew 8:17, 1 Peter 2:24, Isaiah 53:5, and James 5:14-15).

9. That sanctification-the act of separation from all that defiles the flesh and spirit and of complete dedication to God and His will-is the normal life of the believer. All believers must sanctify themselves. Sanctification comes through the Word of God and the work of the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 12:14, Romans 12:1-2, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, and Romans 6:1-11).

10. In the present-day ministries of the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher for equipping the saints and evangelizing the world (Ephesians 4:11-13).

11. That the church is the body of Christ-the habitation of the Spirit-and that the local church is the concrete expression of the general assembly and church of the firstborn. Every believer should become an active part of a local church and offer his/her time, talents, tithes (10% of one’s income), and other resources in service to God at that local church (Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:22; Hebrews 12:23, Malachi 3:10, and 1 Corinthians 12).

12. In the bodily resurrection of believers, the millennial reign of Christ, the judgment of the wicked, and the new heaven and the new earth (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; 1 Corinthians 15:51; Zechariah 14:5; Matthew 24:27,30; Revelation 1:7, 19:11-14; Matthew 25:46; and Revelation 21:22).
